TED Awesomeness from Jamie. Thanks, bro!

I'm sure most of you have heard about the TED conference held in Monterrey, CA each year. If you haven't, it's an amazing event, bringing together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes). TED's
website has video of past and present speakers
.

"We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world."

The winner of this year's TED prize is Dave Eggers, a writer and publisher. He also heads a nonprofit organization called 826 Valencia that works with kids to improve their writing skills. He won the 2008 prize for Valencia's Once Upon a School project. Here is Dave's wish:

"I wish that you - you personally and every organization you know will find a way to directly engage with a public school in your area and that you'll then tell the story of how you got involved, so that within one year we have 1,000 examples of innovative public-private
partnerships."

I know many of you work with your local school or other organizations and understand the transformative power inherent in spending time doing good things for and with children. I thought you would find the video of Dave's speech interesting and inspiring. I know I did.

If you know others who might enjoy this, please think of passing it along.
